Book your room Visit the museum

Letter 4

Alessia Papa

Dear Antonia Fiermonte,

I visited the museum that bears your name, and I felt your presence alive in every room — in the colours, the sculptures, the sounds. Your story moved me deeply: woman, artist, muse — you managed to transform love and pain into pure beauty.

Two great sculptors loved you, but you were much more than a source of inspiration: you were light, strength, and art made flesh. In your drawings, paintings, and the objects you left behind, one can feel the full intensity of a life lived with passion and freedom.

Today, Lecce embraces you as you deserve, and those who step into the museum don’t just look at artworks — they encounter a soul.

Thank you, Antonia, for having lived without holding back. Your art and your story have taught me that to live is to create, and that true beauty lies in the courage to be oneself.

With admiration,
Alessia Papa
